BERESHIT: THE HEAVENS ROLLED UP LIKE A SCROLL

The Book of Genesis tells the story about the beginning of everything. Every year on the last day of Sukkot (or Shabbat Bereshit), we roll the scroll back from the end of Deuteronomy to the very beginning of the creation narrative in Genesis chapter one. Genesis, or Bereshit is the foundation of Biblical Theology because if we don't get the beginning right we risk misunderstanding everything that follows.
