GOD JUDGES MANKIND -The Story of Noah

Oct 24, 2020    Rabbi David Rosenberg

One thing is certain about beginning the Torah cycle! It is clear that God is the Judge and we are not! God creates everything, and everything He creates is accountable to Him. Even before we finish the creation narratives in Bereshit (Genesis 1-6), we see and hear God's heartbreak over the gift of freewill, which mankind to easily chooses poorly. But, Noah gives us hope and his quarantine makes our situation look small. As surely as we see God as Judge, He is clearly a redeemer with supernatural perseverance as well! Trust means we fear God as Judge, long for Him as a redeemer and trust in Him because He alone is trustworthy! Even in the words of Job, "I know my redeemer lives and I will stand before Him...Hope is a powerhouse!
